Two men who allegedly stole weapons on a farm outside Tzaneen in Limpopo were arrested on Monday.
Brig. Motlafela Mojapelo, provincial police spokesman, said the men were 21 and 49 years old and were arrested in a crime prevention campaign in the Dan settlement.
They allegedly broke into a farmhouse in the Letsitele district in February and stole firearms, a camera and passports.
Police on Monday seized two hunting rifles and cartridges that were apparently in the men’s homes.
Mojapelo said the public gave information to police that the two men allegedly wanted to sell the firearms.
The men will appear in Nkowankowa Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday on charges of theft and possession of unlicensed firearms and cartridges.
Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of more suspects who were allegedly involved in the burglary may be detectives. Call Lucas Raseala on 076 618 0899.
