The number of Covid-19 cases in the Northern Cape rose to 156 on Sunday.
A second death has also been recorded, but is listed under Free State statistics. It is a resident of the Onsobomvu municipal area who died of a virus in a Bloemfontein hospital.
According to the Northern Cape Health Department, the number of positive cases increased by 12 from Saturday.
One of those cases was mistakenly considered a Northern Cape case, and will be corrected and moved to the Western Cape’s statistics.
Six men aged between 30 and 46 have been tested positive for the virus in Tsantsabane.
According to the department, 52 people have already recovered from the virus.
There are 101 active cases currently in the Northern Cape.
