The new recorded statistics by the Ministry of Health show a further increase of 918 confirmed cases and 22 more deaths relating to COVID-19.
A total of 475,071 cases have been conducted, 16433 confirmed positive, 7298 recoveries and a total of 286 deaths as of 18th May 2020 in South Africa.
The Western Cape remains on the radars of officials due to having 61.1% of confirmed cases.
The Health Minister, Dr. Zweli Mkhize, has urged that people in the vulnerable group remain vigilant and take extra precautions as the lockdown eases to level 3.
Hypertension, Diabetes, Cardiac disease, obesity and people who live with HIV are classified as “high-risk”
