A warrant of arrest has been issued for former President Jacob Zuma after he failed to appear in Pietermaritzburg High Court this morning.
Judge Pillay ordered that a warrant for the arrest of Zuma be issued and the case be postponed until May 6, 2020.
Zuma’s legal team delivered a “sick letter” to the court on Tuesday.
Judge Pillay says the public has the right to ask how the court treats Zuma compared to any other person.
On Monday, she heard a case where the suspect did not show up and she had to issue a warrant for his arrest.
Pillay says her decision will not prevent the parties involved from sharing information about Zuma’s medical condition and what is known about it.
