A total of 5,951 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus caused by COVID-19 have now been reported in South Africa, an increase of 304 cases in the last 24 hours.
Another 13 deaths have been reported in the country. The deaths have been reported in the Western Cape, Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape. That brings the death toll to 116.
Dr. Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said in his latest statement on Friday night that 2,382 patients in South Africa had already recovered from Covid-19.
A total of 9,992 Covid-19 tests have been conducted since Thursday. A total of 217 522 tests have been conducted in the country to date.
The Western Cape is still the province with the most cases of Covid-19 (2507) followed by Gauteng with 1 507 cases.
