This afternoon Dr. Bandile Masuku, MEC of Health Gauteng released the latest figures of the coronavirus pandemic in the province.
As of 28th April 2020, the confirmed cases sit at 1377 with 897 recoveries and 8 deaths in total.
The province continues to trace individuals or groups that may have been in close contact with the infected in abid to stomp the spread of the virus.
8299 people in total have been traced and dealt with accordingly [quarantined or tested]; 5567 which have now completed their 14-day isolation period.
The province currently has 67 people of which are receiving medical care in public or private hospitals.
Recent updates
- Three staff members from the Brokhorstpruit Hospital have tested positive for COVID-19. The staff members and patients that came into contact have been tested and are awaiting results. The hospital has acted swiftly and disinfected the necessary areas – Further disinfection is underway today.
- Eight staff members at J Dumane Clinic tested positive, The facility has been disinfected and other staff members tested negative.
