The Western Cape now has more Covid-19 cases than in Gauteng, Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said in a statement on Thursday night.
Mkhize said the group outbreak in the Western Cape is being looked into.
There are now 1,279 positive cases in the Western Cape, compared to 1 252 in Gauteng. Gauteng was the province with the most positive cases until Wednesday evening.
No new cases have been reported today in the Northern Cape, Limpopo and the Free State.
The Health Minister also confirmed that there are now 3953 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country and 75 confirmed deaths.
