According to Health Minister Zweli Mkhize, 3034 people in the country have COVID-19. A total of 108 021 people were tested.
Gauteng remains the province with the most cases where 1101 have COVID-19. There are two new deaths. One in KwaZulu-Natal and one in the Western Cape.

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says many of the people who die have other underlying diseases that are associated with the coronavirus. It’s mostly older people dying, and that seems to be the global trend.
We are concerned about the large numbers of people attending funerals. It should be less than 50, and if there is more it can create a situation where the virus spreads the Minister says.
