Health Minister Mkhize spoke to South Africans on Friday.
In a media briefing Mkhize said South Africa now has 2003 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 24 deaths in the country.
73 028 Tests were conducted, says Health Minister Mkhize.
The Minister says that 410 people have recovered from the coronavirus in South Africa. The reason why the figure is now known is because there is a period before the results of the tests are consolidated.
The deaths are 12 in KwaZulu-Natal, 6 in the Western Cape, 3 in Gauteng and 3 in the Free State.

Health Minister Mkhize says the KZN Department of Health must launch an investigation into St Augustine’s as to why so many staff members contracted COVID-19. It was reported that nearly 50 staffers have the virus.
Mkhize says the private hospitals work well together, there are no problems. Everyone works together as one system, whether private or public health services.
