Another 70 Covid-19 related deaths have been reported in South Africa, Dr. Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said in a statement late on Friday night. Of these, 39 were from the Western Cape, 30 from the Eastern Cape and 1 from Limpopo.
A total of 1,354 people in South Africa have already died. More than 1,000 – of those deaths – 1005 – occurred in the Western Cape, followed by the Eastern Cape with 208 and KwaZulu-Natal with 64.
On Friday, there were 61,927 cumulative Covid-19 cases.
