More than 264,000 people in South Africa have already tested positive for Covid-19.
Dr. Health Minister Zweli Mkhize announced on Saturday night that the country has 264,184 confirmed Covid-19 cases. More than 51,000 tests have been completed since the previous statistics were released and more than 2.1 million tests have already been done.
A total of 111 new deaths were confirmed: 38 in the Western Cape, 30 in the Eastern Cape, 26 in Gauteng, 13 in KwaZulu-Natal and four in the Northern Cape. The overall mortality rate at this stage stands at 3,971.
More than 127 000 people have already recovered from the disease, a rate of 48.4%.
