Successful businessman and gas station owner in Klerksdorp, North West became a victim of armed robbery where he was shot and killed.
Cobus Fourie, 42, was a renowned businessman in the area and a father of two when he was shot dead at his gas station in Ellaton.
The attack occured on Monday at 12:36pm, Fourie left the building and walked towards his car when he was met by three gunmen which overpowered him.
Sgt. Police spokesperson Amogeland Mabihi has said “Cobus Fourie was shot in the chest, cash stolen from him and then fled the scene.”
Fourie was later taken to the Wilmed Park Hospital by paramedics and was pronounced dead on his arrival.
Nicolene, Fourtie’s wife has wrote on Facebook expressing her heartbreak “My heart is broken. I know you are in a better place now, just sorry me and our kids are not with you. Thank you for 13 years together, “
Family members and friends are leaving messages to show their support and respect, this is a heart wrenching incident where two children will grow up without their father.
Police Services are currently investigating the case, as of right now no one has been arrested.
