A burglar who broke into a house in Durbanville encountered karma when he was robbed and tied up by the resident.
The incident happened at 4:20 am on February 11, Col. Police spokesperson Andre Traut confirmed.
The resident of a Krisant Street home heard noises in his home. The resident went to investigate and found the burglar with a school bag in his hands.
According to police, the resident confronted the burglar and a wrestling ensued. The resident overpowered the burglar and tied it with cable ropes.
The resident called police and the burglar was arrested for house robbery.
In the school bag, the resident found his two laptops, a cellphone and his watch worth R30 000.
The man arrested will soon appear in Bellville Magistrate’s Court on a charge of house robbery.
