North West police have yet to determine the motive for the murder of a Belgian missionary whose body was found in his home in Bodibe, near Lichtenburg.
A visitor found the body of Reverend Joseph Hollanders, 83, on Monday afternoon. His hands and feet were tied.
He was a missionary in South Africa for more than 50 years.
The suspicion exists that he was inundated at his home on Sunday after church and possibly strangled.
Police said there were no visible injuries to the body.
Police spokesperson Adele Myburg says a post-mortem will be conducted to determine how the Dutch died.
