The ANC government is using a global health pandemic to promote their own discriminatory racial ideology, and the world needs to know it.
That’s why AfriForum says they lodged a complaint against the ruling party at the United Nations today.
In an accompanying report, AfriForum refers to South Africa’s “toxic isolation culture”, about which they say the UN has already expressed their concern. Examples are also given of how the government uses seclusion regulations to promote racial discrimination.
As an example, the report cites the department of tourism that used race as criteria in awarding an R200 million aid fund to small businesses that were disadvantaged by the isolation. AfriForum dragged the department to court, but the Pretoria High Court ruled in the department’s favor. In addition, the Supreme Court and the Constitutional Court both denied the organization leave to appeal against the ruling.
The report also refers to nonprofit organizations that were prevented from distributing food to the needy during seclusion and the way in which the government mutilated scientists after criticizing the government’s handling of the Covid 19 pandemic.
“The world needs to know what is going on in South Africa and that the government is shamelessly promoting their racial ideology under the guise of a global pandemic,” says Ernst Roets AfriForum’s Head of Policy and Action.
The report will also be sent to international media houses and AfriForum’s contacts in other countries’ governments.
