The Northern Cape has 45 positive Covid-19 cases of which 29 have recovered.
Mase Manopole, MEC for health in the Northern Cape, said on Wednesday that only one person died of the virus in this province. There are now 15 active cases in the province.
Manopole says 5,832 people have already been tested for the virus in the province, while more than a million people have been screened.
She called on Northern Capetonians to comply with the level 4 restrictions until June 1.
“Please stay home and only go out to buy essential goods. When you go out, please remember to wear your mask and gloves. ”
Manopole also called for residents to make a real effort to care for the elderly and disabled by not exposing them to the virus unnecessarily.
