Two Clarke Estate friends in Elsies River on the Cape Flats, who were state witnesses in two different gang-related court cases, were shot dead at a home in Clarke Estate at about 10:50 on Monday.
Kelly de Vos, 27, and Josline Samuels, 28, both died at the home on Fleck Street.
A third person, Lincoln van Heerden, was also shot dead. Van Heerden is apparently a member of the 28-gang. Another person was shot in the leg during the incident but managed to get away from the unknown shooters.
A police source said on Monday that Samuels had recently testified about a gang-related incident.
De Vos was apparently supposed to testify in another court case soon.
Capt. Police spokesperson Frederick van Wyk confirmed the incident.
He says three men were arrested by police after thorough investigations.
“The men are between 26 and 27 years old. They will appear in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court as soon as they are charged, ”he says.
According to van Wyk, three unknown men burst into the house in Fleck Street and started shooting at the four people.
“Three people between the ages of 27 and 28 were shot dead. The fourth person was wounded. “
He says the possibility of the incident being gang-related cannot be ruled out. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Stop Crime on 0860 010 111.
