US Defense Secretary Mark Esper said in a statement on Tuesday that he approved the deployment of an 82nd Airborne Infantry Battalion.
Apart from the immediate deployment, additional forces of the IRF are prepared to deploy over the next few days, he said.

Qassem Suleimani, a high Iranian commander, was killed in an airstrike at the Baghdad International Airport.
Qassem Suleimani have killed many Americans in strategic attacks over the years.
