The bodies of a mother and her daughter were found in a house in Belhar, Cape Town.
Altecia Kortjie and her daughter Raynecia Kortjie from Leiden, Delft, went missing on Tuesday. They were apparently on their way to visit someone in Old Belhar.
Their bodies were found shortly before 7pm on Friday evening in a home belonging to Jerome Booysen.
The house is located on Commerce Road, in the part of Belhar known as Old Belhar.
Kortjie and her daughter both had multiple knife wounds.
Raynecia was believed to have drowned in a bath of water before she was also stabbed.
According to a source, a young man, who is allegedly related to Booysen’s brother Michael “Kanakie” Booysen, was arrested. Michael is reportedly a founding member of the Belhar Sexy Boys and a former leader of the 27-prison gang.
The source said that Booysen allegedly lured the suspect away from the home in question when he realized something was wrong.
The bodies of Altecia and Raynecia were then discovered.
They were believed to have been killed by Thursday evening.
